America Land Of Opportunity

America Land Of Opportunity...these are some of the men who helped to build America. Believe it or not, some of these men are veterans, served their country with the promise that when they finished their military training, they would get all the benefits. Some of these many on completing their time, tried to receive their benefits and are still waiting...some suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), some try to get a job and try to readjust to civillian life, try to readjust to living at home with their families, but after years of being trained to be killing machines, it is hard for them. They are just a shell of the man they used to be. Some end up on the street, their minds are gone, they wonder the streets, they become homeless, they end up using drugs...alcohol, cocaine, meth to escape their reality. They no longer have the mental capabilities to hold a steady job, to fill out paperwork to claim their benefits... so they end up at places like MAIN STREET MINISTRIES, where they find caring people who help them put their lives back on track. So if there are organizations in your community that help people, go out and VOLUNTEER and make a difference in someones life. And if you are currently serving in the military or you have family currently in the military, make sure they get ALL THEIR BENEFITS WHILE STILL IN the military, because once they leave...it's hard to claim the benefits. So make sure you go out into your community and VOLUNTEER to help the people who made sacrifices so that you may enjoy the opportunities you take for granted.

Lauryn Hill is Ordered to Get Counselling

http://vigilantcitizen.com/latestnews/lauryn-hill-ordered-by-the-court-to-undergo-counseling-due-t-her-conspiracy-theories/#sthash.9Vu4FZnl.gbpl

When you speak out against the System...the System orders you to get "Counselling". Keep strong Lauryn, fight for the right to be who you are. Dont let them control you.

Excerpt from Lauryn's Letter
“It was this schism and the hypocrisy, violence and social cannibalism it enabled, that I wanted and needed to be freed from, not from art or music, but the suppression/repression and reduction of that art and music to a bottom line alone, without regard for anything else. Over-commercialization and its resulting restrictions and limitations can be very damaging and distorting to the inherent nature of the individual. I Love making art, I Love making music, these are as natural and necessary for me almost as breathing or talking. To be denied the right to pursue it according to my ability, as well as be properly acknowledged and compensated for it, in an attempt to control, is manipulation directed at my most basic rights! These forms of expression, along with others, effectively comprise my free speech! Defending, preserving, and protecting these rights are critically important, especially in a paradigm where veiled racism, sexism, ageism, nepotism, and deliberate economic control are still blatant realities!!!” - See more at:http://vigilantcitizen.com/latestnews/lauryn-hill-ordered-by-the-court-to-undergo-counseling-due-t-her-conspiracy-theories/#sthash.9Vu4FZnl.HKglkgms.dpuf

The negative impact of large chain retail stores on the American Society

Large chain retail stores in America have many negative effects on the society.   These large retail chains exploited the opening markets of the global economy and information technology.  Whenever there is a concentration of wealth, there is usually a concentration of power. Large retail stores have exploited their power on a global scale. Retailers with their power, are now even more powerful than manufacturers and influence manufacturing  decisions. They now influence moving production off-shore. Another primary way that retail chains generate so much revenue is by paying their workers very low wages. This means that most workers have to work two or three other jobs to make ends meet.  Most of these stores have a high job turnover. The  workers have no economic security. Without economic security, there is no freedom. By paying workers very low wages, the workers would not be able  to move from their jobs even if they were given the freedom. In this sense, many of the employees are trapped in positions that make them no better than a slave. The only difference between this modern slavery and the slavery our ancestors had to deal with is that in this modern time, people may choose who they want their slaveowners to be, whether it will be the organizations like the bank, credit card companies, or retail chain employers. The majority of people working for these retail chains are poor minorities like blacks and Hispanics.

The giant retail chains system of labour  has been cited as a prime example of American capitalism, also known as laissez-faire  capitalism which means an economic system  that  is privately owned, have little or no government control and where manufacturing and distribution are operated for profit. Many large retail chains have exploited the freedom given to them by laissez-faire capitalism. They have also outsourced many jobs. Many of the jobs are out-sourced to eastern countries like China where they obtain very cheap labour. The workers in the eastern countries are paid  very low wages compared to the price that the product they make is sold. The retail stores  became powerful in generating revenues that the Chinese government has welcomed their strategies, in exchange for boosting the Chinese economy.

Large retail chains also put many small business owners out of business. They sell their products very cheap in the US and generate a lot of revenue. Most poor people can  only afford to shop at these large retail chains. The long term negative impact on society far outweighs  the short term benefits offered by these companies. The administration of these large retail chains  try to show that they are helping to sustain the economy . They claim to contribute to the nations health care. However, what they really do is try to suppress the workers unions and labor’s rights. They pay workers very low wages, inadequate benefits and poor working conditions.

The giant retail chains in America have more negative effects than benefits. It is an irony that in this modern world, many people are still in  slavery.  They are enslaved by these giant retail chains, and some are enslaved by the banks and credit card companies. The way to escape from this slavery is education. With education, people will make better decisions on how they use their money. Being aware of the methods by which these large retail chains try to keep them enslaved, they can take steps towards  finding jobs that will pay more, offer labor’s rights, and better working conditions. They can also take steps toward demanding better working conditions, and making the workplace better for future employees. The educated consumer also has influence by choosing where they will spend their dollar. They could use their buying power to support businesses that treat their workers humanely. This will force the administration of these large retail chains to provide better working conditions.

The Realities of Silicon Valley

http://www.upworthy.com/theres-one-huge-problem-in-google-and-facebooks-back-yard?c=ufb1

Sad. I love how Silicon Valley has revolutionised my world but I dont like how these people have to pay for that revolution. It is just sad. And yes this should not be ignored anymore. Something should be done for these people. Others who are rushing to Silicon Valley should be made aware of the realities.
